I am not a theologian. I am a simple, ordinary woman. But I feel you should know what people believe. As Mark Driscoll would say, there are closed hand beliefs (non negotiable) and open hand beliefs (things Christians can differ about). I have only put 'closed hand beliefs' here.
My prayer is this, by you knowing what I believe, you will study these things further and come to know Jesus and claim these things yourself.
GOD I believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Co-equal in glory, perfection and power. (1 Corinthians 12:4-6, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
BIBLE I believe that the bible, both old and new testament, is the word of God, God breathed. And is the final authority in life.
SALVATION I believe that it is a gift of grace from God, not by any works as no-one can earn it. But by faith in Jesus who paid the price for sins, by his blood and death on the cross. (Ephesians 1:7, Ephesians 2:8-10)
JESUS I believe that Jesus is the eternal son of God. He came to earth and chose to become man - 100% God and 100% man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary. His Substitutionary death on the cross and his bodily resurrection three days later is literal and we have faith in our justification because of this. (1 Peter 1:3-5) He ascended to heaven and is now at the right hand of God, where he is our High Priest and advocate. (Hebrews 7:25, Romans 8:26-27) He is coming again to judge the living and the dead. (2 Timothy 4:1)
Holy Spirit
I believe that His work is convicting the world of sin and the regeneration of believers. He baptises all believers into the body of Christ, sealing them till the day of redemption and indwelling in them. (John 16:8-11, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14)
